Picard has released an Intel 2700G plugin (preliminary version) for his BetaPlayer PPC movie player software. According to test results of lucky Axmin X50v owners this plugin allows full speed playback in power save mode. The 2700G also allows a better filtering mode (aka 8x4 tap filter) to be used without performance drops. Here's more information and here's the place to get the player and plugin from.

Steampowered's Steam News report that this could fix sound stuttering problems.

Besides sound problems Valve also set a date for the SDK release. Here's more.

Deferred Power have posted a bunch of Half Life 2 screenshots. Those were captured on a Kyro powered AMD A64 3500+ and 1024 MB RAM. Here's the link.

Make sure to take a look at the framecounter. Quite impressive in two ways, (1) Kyro runs it and (2) the game gives old hardware a chance.

Epic have released a new patch for UT2004 which updates the game to v3339. The patch is "... accompanied by an updated version 1.1 of the Editor's Choice Edition bonus pack for new users (the patch already includes the bonus pack changes)."

Dell seem to release a new flatscreen monitor soon. The UltraSharp 2005FPW is the UltraSharp 2001FP's successor and comes with a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 @ 60Hz a contrast ratio of 600:1 and quite nice reaction times. FirstAdopter.com have some more info here.

It took quite a bit of time but we've officially linked to the new benchmark section. Kudos to Cheffy for his input and testing during the creation phase. ;)
We're playing around with a funny widget which displays the results Excel style but unfortunately there is a problem in combination with the Opera browser.
For more information about how to submit your results, how to view the top 10 and more please have a look at our new section. Feedback is appreciated a lot!

Topic says it all, Khronos have released their OpenGL ES presentation from Siggraph Tokyo 2004. Here's the direct link to the ppt.

I liked this part, especially the last bit:
